Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem is ready to make his return to tennis action after a long injury layoff.

The 2020 US Open champion injured his wrist at the grass court Mallorca Open in June and it forced him to prematurely end his ATP season.

The good news was that Thiem didn’t need to undergo wrist surgery and he revealed earlier that he was eyeing the Mubadala World Tennis Championship exhibition event in Dubai in December as his comeback.

“After 2 months of hard work and preparing for the new season it’s finally time to chase the sun,” Thiem wrote on Twitter on Saturday.

On 16 December, Thiem will face Scot Andy Murray to open his campaign in Dubai.
