In this week’s tennis throwback, we take a look back at Martina Navratilova’s stunning upset of Steffi Graf in the 1991 US Open semi-finals.

The top-seeded Graf was expected to beat the sixth-seeded Navratilova.

However, Navratilova upset the apple cart with her brilliant net game to win 7-6 (7/2), 6-7 (6/8), 6-4.

The win saw Navratilova end a four-game losing streak against Graf.

The two tennis legends would eventually end level 9-9 in head-to-head career WTA meetings.

Navratilova went on to lose 6-7 (1/7), 1-6 to second seed Monica Seles in the final.
