Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz has taken the tennis world by storm in 2022.

He’s already won four ATP Tour titles this year, including two Masters 1000 events in Miami and Madrid.

In all, Alcaraz is 5-0 in ATP career finals and a player to look out for at the Grand Slams.

We take a look at Alcaraz’s racquet of choice: the Babolat Pure Aero VS.

Unlike many of the pros on tour who play with a customized racquet painted to look like the latest generation, Alcaraz actually uses the stock racquet you can buy in shops.

The Babolat Pure Aero VS is different to the Pure Aero that Rafael Nadal plays with.

The VS version is a smaller head size – 98 square inches – and weighs 305 grams when unstrung.

It’s a 16 x 20 string pattern, the swing weight is 290, and the racquet has a stiffness rating of 70.

The beam width measures 21mm/23mm/22mm across the frame. In contrast, Nadal’s 100 square inch racquet has a 23-26-23 beam width.

It is believed that Alcaraz plays with a 4 ½ grip size.

This racquet is ideal for aggressive players looking for a speedy and spin-friendly weapon.
