Jimmy Connors’ magical run at the 1991 Us Open is still widely discussed in tennis circles 30 years later.

Connors, who turned 39 during the event, was fresh off reconstructive wrist surgery and not given much of a chance to make a deep run.
The five-time US Open champion had to settle for a wild card entry into the event as he was ranked 174 in the world at the time.
When Connors trailed Patrick McEnroe 4-6, 6-7, 0-3 (0-40) in the first round, the writing appeared on the wall. However, Connors rebounded to win in five sets and it would spark a memorable run that was only ended by the in-form Jim Courier in the semi-finals.
There was also the memorable fourth round match against countryman Aaron Krickstein that went to a fifth set tie-breaker.
