Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro is hard at work trying to make a return to the ATP Tour.
The 2009 US Open champion has been sidelined with a serious knee injury since June 2019 but indications are that he could make a return to action.
Del Potro has been training in Miami this past week and posted pictures on his Instagram account of him playing tennis without a knee brace.
The images, taken at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, were captioned with the words “Keep trying”.
Del Potro, 32, has undergone four surgeries to his right knee in the past two years. His career has been riddled by injuries as he’s also struggled with career-threatening wrist troubles.
Back in June, Del Potro posted on social media:
“It’s frustrating and painful not to achieve the goals, but it would hurt much more not to try. That is why I am here once again.”
Del Potro has won 22 ATP Tour titles.
