The 18-year-old was the first British woman in 44 years to win a major after beating 19-year-old Canadian Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-3 in the final at Flushing Meadows.
Raducanu is also the youngest Grand Slam champion since 17-year-old Maria Sharapova won Wimbledon in 2004.
Virginia Wade’s 1977 triumph at Wimbledon was the last time a British woman had won a major singles title, with Raducanu becoming the first Brit to win the US Open since Wade did so in 1968.
In case you’re wondering what racquet Raducanu uses, Tennis Opinion Worldwide has you covered.
Raducanu endorses the Wilson Blade V7 line of racquets, however – as is the case with most pros – the racquet is not what the paint job depicts.
Raducanu actually uses the Wilson Steam 100 – a very popular racquet on the women’s tour in recent years.
The Wilson Steam, which is a stiff, powerful racquet, is unfortunately no longer available to buy in retail shops, with Wilson now producing the Ultra 100 as its replacement.
Raducanu s racquet is 100 square inches and 27.25 inches in length, with an all-round beam width of 23mm.
When strung, her racquet weighs just over 310 grams. (290 grams unstrung).
The racquet has a swing weight of 316 and a string pattern of 16 (mains) x 20 (crosses).
