Rafael Nadal looks set for a rematch with South Africa’s Lloyd Harris at the Masters1000 event in Toronto next week.

The Spanish world No 3 was upset 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 by Harris at the ATP 500-level event in Washington this past week.

But Nadal and Harris were again paired in the same half of the draw in Toronto.

Nadal has a bye in his first match and if Harris, the world No 50, can beat a qualifier in his opening match there will be a rematch with the 20-time Grand Slam winner.

Nadal was struggling with a foot injury in Washington but said after the Harris defeat that he felt better.

“Best news, the foot was better,” Nadal told reporters. “I was able to move a bit better, so that’s very important, especially for me personally, to keep enjoying the sport and keep having energy, believing that important things are possible.”
